Rent the Track is an annual event started by a small group of car gurus to provide an opportunity for friends and neighbors to relax, watch and/or participate in drag races, and most importantly a day to kick back and have fun.

September 19th, 2010 marks the 6th annual Rent the Track day. This event, started by a small group of gear heads and recreational drag racers, provides an opportunity for friends and neighbors to watch and/or participate in drag races, view show cars at the Show-Car Corral (same complex), and enjoy the Michigan summer with cool beverages and fresh food from the concession stand.
You are welcome to bring your own food and beverages if you wish. No Glass Bottles!
Show-car Corral
With continued requests, we would like to invite all show-cars, trucks and bikes to participate in this year's first Show-car Corral. We will have an area selected especially for you and we appreciate all entries in this event. A trophy will be awarded for People's Choice "Best of Show".
The gates open at 10am and time trials will begin at 11am. The entrance fee is $10 to watch, $50 to race, 12 years and younger may enter for free. Racers are welcome to make as many passes as they'd like until the elimination rounds begin at 3pm. Racers are not required to participate in eliminations.
Racers are required to furnish proper safety equipment as required by their elapsed time and class
Mid-Michigan Motorplex will provide a full staff for this event. Additional announcements will be made throughout the day.
It all started on a freshly poured 300' concrete driveway owned by one of the founders. We had a Christmas tree and our reaction and 60' times were recorded, grilled food, cold drinks. We had a fantastic time but it soon became obvious (after a few flying parts and some close calls into the corn field) that we had to look elsewhere to have fun. So what better (and legal) place than our local drag strip: Mid-Michigan Motorplex.
Knowing the owner, the call was made and here we are today. Presently, we have evolved into a memorable, exciting bracket racing event. There are 4 (or more) classes in which trophies are awarded to the winner and runners-up. We also have the "Event Winner" trophy for the winner of the top 4 finalists. The event winner trophy is passed on each year to the next winner. It also bears the names of all past event winners. Anyone can win! Last year's winner ran in the 14 second and slower class while the winner before that ran 7.60's.
